Hello,

I am logged in and created a new share... However I created the new share after I logged into my PC and started the system.

The standard shares created previously work fine.

However, I created a new share called ISOs and Projects. Granting my user access as full, others as read.

However, due to other things occuring on my system I can not reboot. But I can not get into these new shares.

Does anyone know if you create a new share at the highest level, if you do indeed need to restart so that WHS/MSS grants your device the new rights?

Thoughts?

I don't think you should have to reboot, though it may depend somewhat on the permissions you set. If you have old cached credentials and those change for some reason, you might get an error.

If you're handy with a cmd prompt, you could try:

net use

to view the open shares on your client system. Then

net use /delete \\hpserver\sharename

for all shares to (hopefully) delete any cached credentials.

I have run into this . . . . Seems as you can only have SO many shares open at once???

I've copied files to about 5 different shares, but when I go to open up ANOTHER share, it wont let me in......

After I reboot, I can get into it......

I am not sure if had to to with after I created the share, or just in general. I will try to replicate the error.

Interesting... Still waiting so that I can reboot... I will definatley keep this up to date...

The PC that I am having issues with is my first computer, and the one that I needed to do my factory restore from...

Interestingly this PC I don't need to use my credentials on, like the others in the house... I'm also wondering if it is remembering that, and somehow not allowing it to get in...

Enough speculations... Again will update shortly!

Sure enough after a reboot I could access them... However, I only tried to access my 2 new shares... Overall there are presently 8...

So if you could try to get the steps to reproduce the issue where you can not access it after too many it would be interesting to hear.
