Greetings,
Thank you for letting me join while the server is being decommissioned.
After a power outage, and UPS drainage, my VMware server rebooted, and with it my WHSv1 back up solution. Now the progress bar in the Server Storage pane just keeps spinning. Error message in the Health screen is:
"Storage Status" "Volume with name DE Secondary Volume has failed. Please check hard drives and try to Repair to fix errors for disk VMware Virtual IDE Hard Drive." I have run repair to no avail.
Only option I have in the GUI is to remove the disk. So I cleaned it all off. Moved all shares, then deleted all backups through the GUI, then removed the computer completely. That's where I found the WIN11 new install issue with the certs. (THANKS!)
Tried adding another smaller vm disk, but it will not remove off.
I am at a fork in the road. If I forcibly remove the disk, will this be break the installation? I do not have any backups of this OS image.
OR
I can plug in a similar size drive, (2TB) and try the drive removal with that? Seems like a long shot though.
OR
I have seen mention to remove the hard disk and do a checkdisk from another client. I could use use another VM to run the checkdisk. I also don't know if it can run a checkdisk on anything but 32BIT os?
I saw another post about a file pack with extensions, and maybe a WHS image? I requested access to the google drive share link, but have not heard back. Anyone know where to get this?
Thanks for any and all help!
