Hi all,

Looking for some much needed help. I just purchased a used ex495 and it just came with the power cord and nothing else. I am not sure what to do now to access the unit.

okay.
Not sure where to start.
First there are 4 drive bays
The top three slide out after releasing.
The bottom bay is for the os there is a screw below that bay that you turn a 1/2 turn before you can release and slide out.
Are there any hard drives installed.
Did you get any cd's with it
When you power it up are any led's blinking and what color are they , blinking or not.

The manual you can get at:

Thanks for the reply.

No cd or manual of any kind. No hard drives came with the device. The power button lights up and right next to the front USB port after power up it blinks for several seconds and then turns a solid red.

The first thing you need to do is find a good spare drive and place it in the very bottom drive bay.
Remember that 2 TB is the limit for whs1
If you have one let me know the brand and model number.

For a OS maybe I can probably help you.
But I will private message you when I have something latter today.
