Hey guys,

i have a drive that has an old backup from one of the servers I had in the past. I no longer have those servers.

Is there a way to browse the contents of the .dat files?

Unfortunately no, it's in a proprietary format. There was some efforts made to reverse engineer the format but I don't believe that project ever was fully successful. And if you don't have all the backup files they are no good anyway. If you have the full set you could add them to a WHS server or VM to get at the contents.
