If you are using a net new unnused drive.
Then yes you are correct.
But sometimes if it fails or are using a used drive you will need to wipe it first.
The best option is diskpart, Only if you are familiar with it.
Just format does not do it because there are two partitions.
Which you will need to run while the drive is connected to a desktop.
The next best option to wipe the disk is disk management in windows.
Delete all the volumes. Then place it back in the server. And try again.

Just bear in mind no matter if a new or used drive.
As updates are downloaded your connector on your pc will become the wrong version.
So you will need to delete it and re-install the connector on the desktop.
This will happen at least twice if you keep checking.
Or wait a day or two and do it once.
The best option is to use file explorer navigate to networks and then your server. and run the new version connector from the server., Instead of the CD
