I have a HP MediaSmart EX470 and have been running out of space lately.
Ran TreeSize and it picked up on the hidden DE folder.
Inside that, there's a folder called 'Corrupt' all the files are from 2014...but from what i've read the DE folder is actually where your data is stored.

The full path is: D:\DE\folders\Corrupt
There's nearly 400gb in here...all from 2014 and none newer. They are all .dat files.
Is it safe to delete these??

Hello, great question.
Before somebody says yes or no, some more info about your setup might help with a solution.
How many drives and what size are they?
Do you still have the factory OS drive in the bottom bay or has it been changed out with something else, if so what and how big?
Do you have duplication turned on for your shared folders?
Do you have a backup of your data outside the server?
Do you have the FREE Smart addin to see what shape your drives are in?

Right off the top of my head, I would NOT delete, I would backup my data, purchase a new 2tb red drive and perform a factory reset with it as the New OS drive, add however many drives you need for your data and then copy it back.
Extreme yes, but I do not, nor will I ever trust windows. I have been bitten to many times by some little thing that seemed like it wouldn't cause a problem in the world and then BANG, format and reload.

400gig gained, but at what price ](*,)

Good Luck

P.S. I looked on my system and do not have a folder by that name, I do have a folder with a lot of .dat files.
