I have had media smart server more years than I care to remember! Plus two PCs both upgraded to W10 last year.

Yesterday I noticed one PC was not backed up for 43 days, the other was fully backed up as normal.

I tried to do a manual back up but got the message "Download.hphome failed network error".
So connected to the server with Windows explorer then downloaded and installed the Windows Home Server Connector software, this was OK.

Tried to do a manual back up again but same message "Download.hphome failed network error".

Added my server to my Hosts file, no improvement.

Connected to my server with Remote Desktop Connection and I could start a backup which worked OK.

My software is 3.3.1.35433 - 02.03.2010

Any thoughts?

Well with what we have for info.
Is the problem pc a laptop?
If so They seem to goto sleep and wol does not work well.
Change the power plan to never sleep.

Other than that.
Did you create a homegroup?
This is different than a work group.
This was added in win 10.
So that could be a issue since I don't use it.

Assuming that hphome is a homegroup.

Myself I have 3 pc's and one laptop all on win 10 and they all work for backups.

I have the same problem. I get the hphome download network error. However, I do not understand the fixes stated. If I change the homegroup in my Windows 10 it is no longer apart of the workgroup, which all my 10 computers are on, which is Windows 7, or XP or Vista. Exactly what causes this error.
