Really annoyed and frustrated.

One of my systems shows as offline on the server - even though I am CONNECTED to the console with it, can copy files to and from it.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the client - doesn't matter. No difference.

I can't back it up manually and it isn't backing up through the standard process...since the server never recognizes that it is online.

I have not deleted it - and wiped out all the back ups I have currently. That may be my next step, but that is pretty sad if it is.

Any other suggestions?

Sorry to hear your having problems...
First I would think of what might have changed on that client from the time it was working till the time it stopped working. What changed?
I have a Vista desktop in the house and it goes grey and I have to reboot it to get it going again. It does it randomly and I have no idea why, the only thing running on it is malwarebytes and microsoft defender but all the other clients have the same thing and they don't go offline.

Your problem client, did it get the win 10 upgrade? I have heard that some people have had to do a full clean reload of win 10 to get it working with WHS.

Have you added a new virus scanner or firewall that might be blocking it.

Check to see if the client and the server have the same date and time.

This usually happens to me when I've been away for a week or more and the server is off that whole time. I can't log on to the server through the console until I remote into the server and reset the date and time.
