Had kind of an odd thing happen and I'm hoping someone can explain it to me.

A couple of weeks back, I had a drive fail on my old EX475. I tried to get it to work, but had no luck. I lost my backups and a few folders of data (nothing critical that was duplicated)....but data I'd rather have than not. LOL.

Tonight, I was able to get the drive that failed to spin up in an external enclosure. What I am confused about is that the folders that were missing are not on the drive. I connected up the other drives too, looked in the data folder....but no. Any idea what happened, and any chance of getting that data back? I had been thinking if I could get the drive to spin up I'd be able to recover those files....

First they will be in subfolders.
Second you need to enable view hidden files/folders in windows explorer when you connect the drive to a pc.
Third, depending on what duplication you have the files may be on another drive.
Fourth,
The data will only be view-able for shared folders not backups.
