Hi Everyone,
This problem is on the last of eight machines I am upgrading to Win 10 on.
On all the others after installation the WHS connector did not work on the client PCs. I uninstalled it, restarted, reinstalled it and everything was Hunky Dory. Not this time!

The connector would not uninstall - error 2753.

No installer fixit available for Win 10. Have so far run disk checks and tried various registry cleaners to no avail.

Am now reinstalling WHS 2011 on the server as heartily sick of client backup cleanup not working and client PC backup status being shown as unknown. Therefore removed the PC in question from the server hoping this would aid the uninstall. No luck!

Would be very grateful for a solution as when WHS 2011 is reinstalled I will not be able to connect the PC in question to it as the old connecter will not uninstall and a new connector will not install over the top of the old one.... and so it goes on ...

Thanks for your suggestions.

Mike.

I hate to see a question go un answered. I don't have a fix, but I would save what I could on that PC and then do a reset/upgrade and start fresh. I keep all my files on the server, so reloading a pc for me is no big deal, just getting all the updates and apps back is the 6 hour part.

Only suggestion I can offer, you know windows, sometimes it just won't fix.
Good luck let us know how it goes.

I was coming round to the same opinion!!

Have just had another look at problems connecting to WHS 2011 and just noted that non ascii characters can cause problems.
Now, this computer is called STUDY2 and am wondering if the 2 may have become superscript in the win 10 upgrade?

Furthermore, have read that with Win 7 you could do an in place reinstall using the Win 7 disk and selecting "UPGRADE" thus keeping everything and hopefully sorting errors. Is this possible with nWin 10?

Best wishes,

Mike.

Oh man, now you do have me out on a limb. I have only upgraded 1 netbook to win 10 and I don't like it.
My other pc's (9 total) are all win7 and 1 vista desktop.
So I am not sure of anything with win 10, I did do a recovery to factory on the netbook to win7 and then upgraded to win 10 with a local account to try and get past some of the MS stuff, still don't like it.
So I will be keeping all my pc's NON win10 till at least 2020, I hear win 7 will EOL 2020 and I will see what they have by then.

Good luck, but I am just saying NO to win 10.

I was just settin here thinking, the first time I upgraded to win10 I used my outlook account and after I got it installed I used a windows key finder and got a win 10 key. That key might work to do a clean win 10 install, but no way of knowing. Just an idea.
