Hi!

Since I installed Windows 10 on one of my personnal computers (without changing anything to the server), I can't connect to my HP MediaSmart Server (EX475) to administrate it.

I'm not sure Win10 is related to my problem, but after the Windows upgrade, I got a message from the connecter software saying that a new drive had been detected on my computer and that the server needed attention for the backup task configuration. There wasn't any new drive.

It's when I tried to open an administration session that the problem appeared. In fact, after I enter my authentification (user and password), whether it's with the console (connector software), a RDP session, or from the web interface, the server reboots (the HDD lights close and right after that, the health light starts flashing)... I tried connecting to the server from different computers and it always has that same behavior.

Despite that problem, I can access the shared folders and the automatic backups of our personal computers still work. I just can't access my server to administrate it.

Do you have any ideas that could help solve this problem or do I have to try a server resoration with my recovery disk?

Thank you

Do you have the FREE SMART addin to keep track of your drives?
A couple of main problems with the servers:
1) Drives going bad
2) OS drive fills up with errors and can't work anymore
3) Heat/cleaning.
4) power supplies
5) damage done upgrading the server

As far as win 10, I have heard that it detects a new drive and you need to ignore backing up that drive and just backup the main drive. Also, when I upgraded to win 10 it named my pc so crazy name which may cause a problem on the backups, I don't know as I don't have the test 10 laptop on the server yet.
One step at a time.
Thanks for the info and good luck.
