dear forum
i´m a newbee here and experiencing the following problem.

my hp data vault x312 with WHS1 on it refuses to come up again from a sleep mode. it happens aprox every second day.
the health light is flashing blue, the network light is off, all drives are on. cannot reach the server whatsoever (no network connection, no ping).

when i switch the whs off and on it boots fine.
also the event log doesn´t show anything suspicious.
can anyone advise of a possible solution?

Hi offpistesau welcome to the forums,

Personally I do not put my servers to sleep I just let them run or I simply turn them off when I do not want them to run. If you search the forums you will find this issues exists across most if not all the HP MSS models or in your case the DataVault but for many they resolved their issue by installing either an ADD-IN or 3rd party software solution.

Do not let the server model get in the way of searching for a solution because what your server has in common with all the other models is that it runs WHSv1 and the only differences between what you have are with the Hardware and the version of the HP Software Supplied with the server.

What I recommend is performing a site search for your sleep and wakeup issue to see what others have done to resolve the issue which as I have already mentioned required the use of an ADD-IN or 3rd Party Software.
