Hi all,

Just getting started on creating a MSS for my home media centre and have a question regarding iTunes:

Do I forget about trying to use the built-in iTunes Server (FirePlay?) and install a full copy from Apple?

Reason being is that my MSS shows up in iTunes 11 but want show any content. It copied over all my songs ok to the share but that's it, I can't read them rom my client PC from within iTunes. Haven't bothered with the household iDevices yet asI guess they'll all fail.

I have read some info on the forums about this and opinion seem to be mixed.

I don't need to stream outside of my LAN and I am running V1.3.8.25155 of MSS.

Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.

The MSS built in iTunes server Fireplay is broken in the current versions of iTunes. You would need to run an older version of iTunes

There is an add-in from bizmodeller.com called iHomeServer that could help. The v2 is free or cheaper I believe.

Thanks for the info.

Funnily enough I was just looking at iHomeServer. It does seem to do what I want and is supported on all WHS versions.

V3 is £19, which isn't bad.

Anyone got experience of using iHomeserver on their WHS?
