Hi there,

Since a couple of months I have some trouble with my HP MS EX490.

It looked like it freezes after some time, so I checked the hard-drives and one of them, the boot disk, was broken. It didn't work anymore. Now I was doing a Server recovery and after a couple of fails, it finally succeeded and I thought it was fixed.

Nevertheless, after several minutes, about 15, the health indicator is red and stays solid red.

The disk seemed to be OK when I tested it in a hard drive enclosure.

Did you ever experiencing this type of trouble?

Thanks in advance for trying to help me out!

It's been a while since I've had a drive in my DE array go bad. I think the Storage Server tab in the Windows Home Server Console will show you which drive it thinks is has a problem.

You can get to that by opening a Remote Desktop Connection to the server, logging in as Administrator and double clicking the Windows Home Server Console icon on the desktop.

Not 100% true.
The storage tab will indicate say a fragmented drive but will not always show a bad drive.
Such as the SMART addin will.
