New to forum so apologies if in the wrong place.

My HP Media Smart Server is accessable through windows explorer but I am unable to start Windows Home Server console as get the error "the computer has lost connection to your home server" On searching the web for ehlp note lots of others with same issue but no clear solutions. Have tried removing and reinstalling WHS and hunter HP support site but only option there is server recovery or factory reset (neither of which seem to have solved anyones issue with the same problem.

If anyone has a non techie solution I'd be very grateful?

Thanks

Well the model you use and os would be helpful
But first item I would try is plug the server directly into your desktop
Meaning plug it directly into your nic card bypassing all hubs/switches/routers etc..
Also before you do so verify that your desktop nic works,Like can you access the network or internet.
Then I would attempt to re-install the whs connector software on the desktop.
