I have an Acer H340 server. I need to know how to recover data my my server backup backup drive after the main (system) drive has failed.

Any ideas out there?

Regards, Kevin (prodrok)

While I have never worked on an Acer H340 I would assume Acer Provided a Server Recovery disk much the same as HP did. The interesting thing about the H340 and the HP EX470 is there motherboards were made by the same manufacture and both use SMI Areas to boot the servers into recovery mode.

What is not exactly clear is how Acer setup the recovery process but my guess is that with a blank system drive installed your H340 will boot into its recovery mode and all you need to do is run the server recovery software from a client. Beyond that I am not certain how Acer Set up the recovery software to work because WHS can recover the server and preserve the data currently stored on the server or a Factory recovery which erases everything but I am sure Acer would of documented this.

On this site you will find mostly current and former users of HP MediaSmart Servers and those who built their own servers many of which started with an HP MediaSmart Server. There are some with Acer EasyStore Servers like your H340 on the site so hopefully they will jump in and offer additional help.
