I set up my new EX475 a few nights ago. My ISP Cox, like most other ISP's, blocks Port 80 but not 443. I forwarded my router's ports 443 and 4125 to the EX475's IP address to enable access to the web server (through SSL) and remote access from the outside. During the server setup I signed up for the TZO-assigned domain name. When I tried accessing my server's TZO URL from inside my home network, my IE browser would time out every time. I could access the web server through the internal IP address and network name, just not the TZO URL. I thought maybe something didn't get configured correctly. The next day I tried accessing my server's TZO URL from my work PC, and it worked! I can log on my server and use remote access to control my home PC's. I have to use the http:// URL, not https://. Trying to use the https:// address results in a timeout. Use the http:// address. TZO will automatically redirect to your SSL https:// url. I do get an error message regarding the SSL certificate. I just ignore it and still works fine.

I guess it wasn't made clear enough in the documentation that the TZO url will only work from outside your home network. At least in my case I can't access it internally. Just be aware of that if you're setting up your EX470/475 and trying to access your new server using the URL assigned to you by TZO or Windows Live!

In some cases, using the domain name internally will not work. This is known as the famous "loopback" issue with some routers. Here is a rule of thumb when using domains internally and externally.

AT THE SAME LOCATION AS THE MEDIASMART: Use the internal IP address if the domain name won't work

WHEN AWAY FROM THAT LOCATION: Use the domain name. If you need to remote desktop into the server remotely (after changing the firewall scope for RDP) you can go to the www.YourName.HPShare.net, etc (or whatever your personal domain is)

On the problem you were having, it's due to HTTPS forwarding on all HP records....Except the www subdomain isnt forwarded

The WWW record goes to the IP address directly. All other subdomains including the root domain itself go to the HTTPS relayed port.

So, you can try https://www.Yourname.HPShare.net (or whatever your personal domain is) and that should work
