Okay guys, I need your help. I've been using my WHSv1 for years now with no problems. All of a sudden I cannot log into the Windows Home Server Console from my misc computers.


1) I can still Remote into the Server
2) I can log into the WHS Console from the RDP
3) I can access all my files from these computers, I can ping the server, etc...

The only "fix" I have found online is to modify the hosts file with the IP address of the server ... this is already done on all machines.

I'm not really sure where to go from here. Help would be greatly appreciated, but I might need a tad more technical direction than others.

Possibly related, when I attempt to update the WHS software from the WHS Console (while remoting in) it just freezes.

Do you have the SMART addin installed? Drives starting to go bad can do weird things...
Also, is this happening with more then one client? I assume you have more then one connected to the server.
If it is all of them, do you have a router going bad?, have you made any network changes? switches/cabling/router and-or settings/etc?
