on my home console server today it indicated that my main server drive was failing so it suggested to do a self repair - it has been close to 2 hrs since I ran this repair command - I still have no access to the server since the home server shows not connect on my PC so I do not know if its safe to turn off or not.

How long should I wait for it to repair ? right now there are 3 blue lights on the HP server and the one on the right is continuously flashing.

any help would be appreicated

If your still having issues with your server then shut it down, pull the system drive, connect it to another computer and run CHKDSK /r on it. If the drive can not be repaired then you should consider replacing it with a new drive and then perform a Server Recovery. This method will preserver your data. Just download all the HP and Microsoft Updates before attempting any Client Database Repair the server will ask you to do. Doing this before all the updates are in will cause you to lose some or all of your client data. Once all the updates are installed the warnings from the server should go away unless of course there is a real issue with your client database.

You can also pull out your Storage Pool Drives and perform a FACTORY RECOVERY and then move the data from the Storage Pool Drives back to the server. If you leave the drives in during this recovery process they would be formatted. Also you may want to add in a new 2TB Drive to the pool before copying the data to get your server off to a good footing. After moving the data off a drive then install it back into the server, add it back to the storage pool and then copy the data off the next drive and then continue this process until you have copied all your data to the server. You can elect after adding the 2nd storage pool drive to turn on Duplication or wait until all your data is back on the server to turn it on. Using this method will cause you to lose all your Client Backup Data but if you previously used BDBB then you can use that to restore your client backup database.

Good Luck....
