Is it possible to install WHS 2012 E without this debug board? I had a look at the price and it's around £70 which isn't even value for money considering those HP ProLiant Gen8 G1610T MicroServer's are around £120. I'm just stuck between a rock and a hard place atm as my X510 has been solid for around 10 years now but I need an updated 64bit O/S to host minecraft servers for the kids.

Is there a similar process to the link below for WHS 2012 R2?

I just did the install and am trying to figure out a way to get the server to go into standby since my use case is only to do client PC backups late at night. The OEM WHS1 would do this by default.

Has anyone successfully done this?

Thanks.

I was able to figure out how to get it to go to sleep with Lights Out. The weird thing is that it does not have a network connection when it wakes up and I've been therefore running it 24x7 instead.

Would you be willing to share your Lights Out settings and possibly your network card driver ones too?

Thanks.

yeah mine doesn't wake up either. The programmer for lights out thought it was a hardware issue. I just used lights out to shut-down I manually restart. If you figure it would I am very interested.

It's not free for win 2012 server but it works great, you can get a free serial is you are just using it at home, but at a work it would cost a little.
Anyway, it works great when I could not get lightsout to work...

Goodluck
P.S. It's not a addin, you have to remote desktop in to install and setup, takes a couple of mins.
