Tapatalk would be great to add to this forum.
Super easy to use on my Androidphone.

Looks interesting and easy enough to set up. I don't see a lot of discussion about it on other forums, are there are any Tapatalk users/fans/haters that have input on this while I investigate a bit more?

I hav en't used tapatalk yet, mainley because it costs $3 to purchase...and there seem to be some significant problems (based on reviews). Another thing that annoys me about it, is that it hijacks your android browser and prompts you to purchase/install it whenever you go to a tapatalk enabled site from a mobile phone. I concur that it could be easier to browse from a mobile...but I wont spend $3 to do it...and if it gets annoying to see the warning, add every time I visit, my site usage might go down. I will do some searching to see if there are any other alternatives out there... maybe open a new thread requesting suggestions?

My understanding is that if you have cookies enabled you should only be prompted once to use the Tapatalk version. Also the free version allows you to read, you only have to pay $3 if you want to create topics or reply.

I implemented it on a bunch of forums when it first came to android and no one was really interested in it? it might be suited to a crowd of Techie's

There's also an iPhone styled theme for this forum software that I could try, it wouldn't be an app but would give you an easier view into the forums when you navigate here in Safari on your iPhone/iPod. Opinions?

Alex - love the site and your efforts! I support the mobile theme idea 100%, and would love to see something easier for us folks using iPhones, Droids, Win Mobile, palm, etc... finding a turnkey solution will probably be hard. I started searching tonight and only came up with a couple options. If you want help testing let me know, I will be more than happy to help and will support no matter what (if any) road you take... :whs:

I have Tapatalk running on a vBulletin site I administer. I have had it installed for around 18 months. It's fairly painless from an admin standpoint. The Tapatalk publishers could do a better job of informing me when a new version of the server side software is released, but other than that I have no complaints. Updates are simply a matter of uploading a zip file, then connecting to the site via ssh to unzip the file over the previous files. The iPhone client allows some moderation tasks to be performed at the thread and message level. Our users like it and use it.

edit: some bot bumped this thread. The bot's post (and presumably account) were deleted.

Thanks for the input, Cliff, I actually got it installed and running a few weeks ago and as you say it's quite simple to set up. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8834
