I think my ex495 is defunct. Time for a new sever. I need to recover all my files via stablebit drivepool and also looking to minimise costs. So what I have: WHS 2011 6x HDs (1 as new system disk, 5 with duplicated data on) 1x esata drive enclosure Licence for: StableBit Drivepool; Eset WHS2011 licence. Thus, I'm looking for a 'barebones' (ish) machine to run the above on. That is, already have to OS + HDs - just need the hardware. So I'm looking at this: http://www.dabs.com/products/dell-poweredge-t20-intel-xeon-e3-1225v3-3-2-ghz-4gb-1tb-no-os-t20-3708-BYXG.html?refs=4294943184&src=3 Would I be able to install WHS2011 on this? If not or if there's better alternaitves, what would people recommend? Around the same price range. Thanks |

Heck yes, that is a good machine, I got one like it on Woot.com it had 8 gig memory. I use it as a headless HTPC use it to do all my ripping/scanning/graphics/cloning/etc. I put the OS on a ssd. But if you have Win 10 clients you might want to look at this: http://www.mediasmartserver.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=14355 Good Luck |
