First post :P

But I am currently using the Stablebit Drive Pool on my server and it is A-FRIGGIN-MAZING!

It seems to be not only a good choice but a REALLY AFFORDABLE choice! The ease of use of adding and removing drives is a snap and it is a very simple interface. If you haven't already (given the age of the post), I would highly suggest it.

I've been using Stablebit DrivePool for a long time now with zero issues.

So I have had my ex485 for years and am moving to whs2011 with 3 maybe 4, 4TB drives, so you s guys really like stable bit for adding and removing drives from the drive pool and it looks like it does duplicate folders which I guess is similar to DE correct?

I am running the released version of Stablebit Drive pool. My server has 22 hard drives installed of which 19 are in my drive pool and its been stable (no pun here).

I do not have anything larger than 2TB installed in any of my servers so I am unable to comment on how the larger drives work. Hopefully someone will chim in about the larger than 2TB drives being used in a Stablebit Drive Pool.

Been there done that many times in the past. It makes for a nice learning process but also can speed up the growth of grey hair and consumption of Advil so expect a bumpy ride and if all turns out well then its all good. Please share with others how you make out and I wish you success with your task.

Well WHS2011 is up and running. One minor issue was that it wouldnt install from a usb boot drive for some reason, so I used the ole drive swap method. I put my new hd in my desktop and booted from my newly purchased WHS2011 ($29) and at the first reboot, took the drive out and put it in my ex485. All is good, I just need to look into Stablebit Drive Pool.

Look around for the threads dealing with getting your LEDs to work (sorta). I don't have the info right at hand but it's worth doing I think.

Well with 4tb drives, I had to use GPT partitions, and from I have read the led fix doesnt work with GPT partitions.
