I have a EX495 that I recently upgraded cpu/mem/os to whs 2011. Everything was working fine. Then suddenly one day, I can no longer RDP to the server with saved credentials.

Why would this suddenly change? I have tried to edit group policy for saved credentials but that did not work either. No matter what I do I have to manually enter the password now as opposed to using a RDP shortcut before that saved everything. I have tested this from serveral computers from other networks so I know its not the client. So annoyed. ](*,)

Are you using the Administrator account and password to make the RPD Connection? If your trying your user account information it will not work.

Yes, I actually just solved the problem. I tried this several times yesterday and it did not work. It's working now.
In RDP you have to put WORKGROUP/Administrator as the user and it will allow saved credential connections.

On my servers it shows up Server_Name/Administrator

Happy to hear you got it figured out.

I think because I am connecting from my work Domain, I have to specify the WORKGROUP for the RDP to the WHS. My WHS2011 in on workgroup.

I have a blended environment here at the house between my older toys in a WORKGROUP and my WS2012E Server and Clients associated with it being part of a DOMAIN. Its not the first time I worked in a mixed environment but it was a bit of a pain at first when I upgraded my WHS2011 server to run WS2012E but I also run both WHSv1 and 2011 servers here and do have multiple devices that are setup to work in a WORKGROUP but its not something I would recommend to the average person unless they have a very good reason for wanting to do such a thing.
