Hi Guys,

I've installed a new 4TB disk that's formatted in GPT, however my LED light is flashing. It is initialized and formatted, so i'm not sure if it's because it's a GPT disk?

Assuming this is WHS v1, it will flash until you either add the drive to the storage pool or designate it as a backup drive.

You may also want to read up on the issues around using drives >2TB with WHS.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, it's not a pooled HD, and it's WHS 2011. I'm just using it for hosting my movies and other apps. It's also not backed up...

I had the same issues. The first two HD are fine and then I added the third 2TB HD and its LED light is blinking. I am running WHS 2011 with Terry's LEF add-on. The HD itself seems to work just fine and can create the folder and copy files to it.

Any advices?

I used the files from the following link on and EX485 running WHS2011 but it applies also to the EX49x and x510. If you read LPN's post he talks about the blinking HDD Light.
