Hi there,
As the titel say, I try to upgrade from the default HP software on a Mediasmart server ex490 to WHS 2011 Dutch.
To do so I have pulled out the hard disk and plugged in to my stand alone computer, boot with the CD from whs2011 and installed it.
Now replaced the hard disk into the server but the blue healt-led is flashing and no further information is given.

Sorry for my bad english.

Hope someone can help me,

Pit

The blue health LED will always blink. Have you tried connecting to your server in a browser? http://server/connect

I have, no succes.
Only the powerled is on, the netwerkled is on and the healthled is flashing, all blue.

I have a notebook with Xp pro on it. I made a direct connection but coudn't ping the server.

Ik has installed the networkcard from my pc, it wil maybe not automaticly install the networkcard for the server.
Is this the problem, I start to think yes.

Ik looked ad the link you gave me, it made it clear to install until first reboot. I didn't do that so now I have done so but still the same result. The HD doesn't do anything.

Oke, now I have do a new setup from my PC to the HD. But after the first reboot I stay on the PC. I had to fill in several thing like the authentification number. Then it marked me not to turn off the server because it was prepairing the server and it could reboot before it was finished. After the second reboot I took the HD out of my PC and placed it in the server.

Now still the leds are burning blue and the health led is flashing blue. I never see the HD led burning, not a second.
I am linux user, a friend of my asked me to do this so I have litle to no knowledge of windows.

Please...... Pit

As I said before, the hard drive and health LEDs will never work with a default WHS 2011 install.

You need to remove the hard drive from your PC at the first reboot.
