Hello all. I have installed WHS 2011 on one of my computers about three months ago. It's working great, but the computer I have it on is overkill. I want to move it on an older dual core computer.

Here is my problem, I can't find the iso files on the install CD. I know that my computer is working correctly because if I put in an old XP cd, it works. I tried calling Microsoft, but they want to charge me $100. I tried to get them to send me a replacement CD, but they won't because it's a oem product.

It came with two disks. Client Computer Restore CD and the Preinstallation Disk. I can't find the iso on either. Does anyone know the path to where I should be able to find it on the disk?

Any suggestions on what went wrong and how to resolve? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You won't find the ISO on a CD. The CD/DVD _is_ the ISO. And I think they are both DVDs not CDs...

Exactly what are you trying to do? If you want to install it on a different computer, just use the install DVD...
(you may have activation issues since MS may think the key is being used on two computers, but it is nothing a call to MS shouldn't resolve).

If you want to extract the DVD to ISO, I'd suggest something like ImgBurn.

Thank you very much for the response.

I am wanting to take my home server software off of one computer, and put it on another. I have tried both home server disks, but neither will install the software. I have tried it on multiple computers, and I can't get it to install.
I have even tried using a usb, but that does not work either. When I use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool, I can't locate the ISO file on either of the disks.

What kind of problem do you run into when you attempt to install?
Are you booting the computer you intend to install onto from the WHS 2011 Install DVD?
You may need to get into the BIOS settings to make sure it is enabled to boot off your DVD...

What won't work is trying to install WHS on the old computer by initiating it from the existing Windows install. You need to install from scratch just as if it didn't have an OS on it at all...

The Win7 USB/DVD Download tool is for the case that you already have an ISO and wish to create a USB stick (you'll need at least an 8GB stick for WHS 2011) for the install. You can certainly create an ISO from your DVD (assuming it isn't damaged) by using a program like ImgBurn. Basically you use ImgBurn to copy the contents of the entire DVD to an ISO on your hard drive. Then... you could use the Win7 USB Download tool.

Hope that helps...
