I get the following error on whs 2011 dashboard, router not configured correctly.
I have a static IP address set to my server. Everyhting works fine even though I receive this error.
All my clients have W7 pro
My router is Auctonic PK5000

I have tried the set up two ways. One with UpNp enabled, still get the error
The other manual set up my ports. still get the error.
No matter what configuration I use I get this error but everythings works.
Any ideas? The only thing I could find on google talks about a loop back as a possible cause?
Thank you

Are you getting this error with remote access? Mine too shows "the router is not working." In my case, however, I have the three ports WHS uses (80, 443 and 4125) forwarded over to my EX490 (WHS v1); my EX487 hosts WHS 2011. So it should be no surprise that the remote access validator cannot validate the WHS 2011 connection, because these ports are hard-coded into WHS and cannot be changed...sort of. You can change them in IIS to get to the WHS website but the validator won't detect this.

My guess is that the router is not forwarding the ports to the WHS box. You should double-check the firewall (Windows Firewall with Advanced Security) on the WHS 2011 box, and also the port forwarding settings on the router. Whether you have a static IP or DHCP, if those ports are forwarded (and UPnP should have done this for you), then you should not get an error.

The other part is that you need to have configured a dynamic DNS domain name (i.e. YourServerNameHere.homeserver.com). Otherwise the remote access validator will have nothing to validate.
