I keep getting the error below on my newly converted MSS EX470.

HPSERVER: One or more services are not running
The following important Windows services are not running: Active Directory Certificate Services Note: Services can be stopped when software updates are applied.

When I try to manually start the service, I get the error below.

Service Specific Error Code 939523546

Is this a problem? how do you correct it?

Microsoft error codes given in that format can be converted to their HEX notation by converting to negative value (-939523546) and then converting to HEX using the calculator that comes with Windows Vista/7. This value converts to 0xFFFFFFFFC8000226 (64-bit). You can drop the F's, which gives you the real error code, 0xC8000226.

According to MSDN, this is hrDatabaseInconsistent (code 550), with the message, "The database is damaged."

Here's a forum post that talks about using ESENTUTL to try repairing the database: http://www.winvistatips.com/certificate ... 49827.html
