I upgraded my EX470 to WHS 2011. The CPU temperature is much higher now, 60C typically instead of 38C. It seems like the Cool n Quiet feature that throttles the CPU speed and voltage isnt working? On WHS v1 the CPU speed would drop to 1ghz at idle along with a voltage drop, but this doesnt appear to be happening now. Is there anything special that needs to be done to get cool n quiet working in WHS 2011?

I found and application that will manually drop the multiplier and voltage - CrystalCPUID. This does work and also drops the temperature, but its not dynamically setting the speed based on load.

See if AMD has a cool-n-quiet driver for Server 2008, and then under the power options make sure it's set to "Balanced power and performance" or some similar phrasing.
