I am having the same problem a lot of other people using WHS 2011 are having and that is getting a error message when you are setting up your domain. I get to the log into your domain with the web addtress xxx-Home-Server.com and then log in name and password and then it starting searching for a few sec and go to a error saying that a unknow problem has cause this action to terminate and to try again in a few mintues. There are tons of info on this, but none of them work for me. I have change my internet sync time on the server to everyone of those that are on the pull down and that does not work. I can remotely get to my server in my network, I can get to my web page with the same log in that does not work on the wizard. I have change my password on the web site to see if that was a problem, but that does not work. I need help. Thanks Jerry

OK, this is what I am able to do without using the Domain wizard in the setup on the 2011 server. I when to my Domain provider and pointed my web page to my router and I can get to my server that way. It still says that I need to setup my Domain, but I can live with. I still would like to set the domain up thru the wizard on the server if I can find a way to do it. All in all I like the 2011, my next item is to get a media collector setup for my pictures and music. Thank's Jerry

Make certain the domain address starts with HTTPS:// and not HTTP:// in the address bar on your browser. Do not use www. as part of the web address for your server use https://domain name if you just enter your domain name like you do for most sites your browser will attach http:// to it and that will never get you to your server because it requires a secure connection thus the https:// requirement.

One thing I do with my router is Reserve an IP for each of my devices and then setup port forwarding for the ports required 443 and 4125 to be forwarded to your servers IP. WHS2011 has a wizard to do this but sometimes its just better to set them if you have a fixed IP which easier to do in the router. The firewall can also cause an issue on the server so you may want to check the HTTPS and RDP settings to make certain they are not being blocked
