Looking at getting my HP N40L back on line after it was powered down for a move a few years ago, ya I know it's about time. I've had this small home server for a long time and I want to replace the drives as the drives in there are old refurbished Western Digital 1tb Green drives that are probably 10 years old, still working but old. My server has been upgraded to 16gb ram and also running WHS 2011 with Stablebit installed for the drive pooling. Now my question is do I spend the funds on at least 2 2TB drives and keep using the N40L or do I just by a NAS device with drives in it already? All I really use it for is file storage so I'm thinking a USB 3 device could work also.
