As the title says, my Bro has bought himself a WHS2011 and needs AV for it - I use Clam AV for my WHS v1 and am fairly happy with it but was wonder what you WHS2011 folks recommend?

That's the million dollar question. I have tried ESET NOD32 as recommended by the good folks over at We Got Served but removed it because I was not convinced it was fully compatible with WHS2011 and this may have changed since I last attempted to run it.

I do not like running my servers without AV protection but the AV software should be fully compatible with the server OS. The important thing is to make certain that all the clients which access the server have good AV Protection and never allow anyone to upload files which do not have good AV software or good scanning habits on their clients.

I wish I could offer something more positive but if someone does post about a working compatible AV program I know I would be interested.

I've been running ESET NOD32 V4 for almost a year, with out issue, I've tried out the Comodo solution for a short time, but it was creating some funky behavior with my Pooled files under Stablebit, so I would not recommend comodo, but Eset if I recall even added WHS 2011 to their supported OS's.

Eset does not recommend their security solution on headless systems, stick with just their AV product.

FWIW I've been running my business copy of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.x and it's been very happy I did exclude my DriveBender pool from real time access but I do scan it once a week as a scheduled item.
