One of the features i like about WHS is the ability to have a very user friendly website. Since i changed to Win7 as the primary OS for my server i have been missing that feature. I was wondering if i could install WHS 2011 on VMware and use only the website? If so how do i do this?

Once you create the VM it will receive an ip just like any other computer. Forward those ports to your router and you should be fine. What platform do you plan on creating your VM? Workstation, Server or ESXi?

Workstation. Installing forwading the ports is the easy part. I want to be able to see my data also.

As long as everything is on the same subnet you shouldn't have any issues.
