Hi to all,
I just upgraded my EX487 to WHS2011 (headless mode). All went fine (although with 2GB of Ram, the remote desktop is more responsive than WHS v1!) but I have a little problems with the 4 HD lights in the front of the cabinet: they are always OFF, and the health light is blinking (blue).

How can I resolve? is there some driver that I miss to install?

Thanks!

Basically your kind of stuck with the LEDs operating as they are now because there is nothing written into WHS2011 to actually control the LEDs. I believe this is one function of the MSS that those who install WHS2011 will absolutely miss the most.

The driver that controls the LEDs was written by HP and will not work on WHS 2011. The driver is 32 bit and WHS is 64 bit. HP has no plans to update it as they're not interested in WHS any longer.

Thanks for the clarification.
I'm sure I can live with the HDD lights off :)

I had a server once where I lost the LED functions and it drove me nuts. Now on the otherside of the equation there are many forum members interested in saving electricity so maybe not having the LED's working properly might be welcomed.

well... not so a welcomed "feature". I'm quite pissed off from this... but there is nothing to do, so I accept it.
I preferred that funny "easter egg" UI for the HDD lights than having all always off :D

Actually, you can do something about it:

My server sits in a closet in another part of the house, if the LEDs work or not no biggie to me, as far as saving electricity, LED's only use milli amps of curreny so no cost saving there.

Licantrop0, looks like you didn't upgrade your memory, did you happen to upgrade your CPU?
