I have the technet release of WHS 2 just posted, so it's not the RC version and I am wondering if anyone might have some advice on upgrading the RC version which says in the bottom left hand corner "Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Evaluation Copy Build - 7601".

I am pretty sure I will need to go through the installation process, but not sure if it will leave my partitions intack. I put a lot of work into getting the shared folders set up and balanced. I don't think it is as easy as putting in the new product key and doing a windows update.

Thoughts?

There is never usually an upgrade path from a Beta or RC. Your best bet would be to backup your folders and perform the install.

So...for those of us who have been here since day one *cough* *cough*, you know, the pre PP1 days...and don't have access to Technet, is there any way we can get our hands on it a bit sooner rather than later?

I'm getting tired of having to deal with corrupt file errors every 3 days or so...and I really want to at least try out the RTM before deciding my future server needs.

The absence of DE is going to be interesting for me...I wonder if I can deal it. I always had off-site server backups, so I never duplicated any folders...but the flexibility was something that I loved, especially after dealing with RAID...so...what's happening around here?
