I tried my wired USB keyboard, and it still didn't work. I'm going to look a little closer at the cable I'm using. Would you happen to know the exact pinout that is needed in order to get the Hit Del to enter bios message to appear for the ex490? The front usb port isn't responding to anything until the OS boots up. The only usb port that does respond at initial startup is the lowermost rear port.

After some research, it looked like homegroup was the culprit for my error code 8032. I figured the two choices I had were to either disable it on every machine, or create a homegroup on the server, and join every machine to it. I chose the second one, and I haven't had the error come back since. If it does, I'll keep you posted.

Ahh.
I have never enabled homegroup on any of my clients.
Just workgroups which is required.

I might still be having trouble with this. It seems like either if my office PC logs into the connector, all other connectors get locked out OR of too many clients around the house are connected, the next connection attempt will fail. I reset the machine, and I no longer use homegroup. I'll keep poking around at it I guess. Its working today, and I'm going to leave my office machine disconnected for a while to see if it acts up again.

Leaving a note to myself here. See this topic: viewtopic.php?t=11189

I set mine to send NTLMV2 response only because that version is a little more secure, and I only have Win 7 machines. Afterwards, I was able to immediately connect to the dashboard.

Alright, so its been a couple of weeks with relatively few issues. Over the course of this thread I have reinstalled Windows twice. Without further tinkering to absolutely confirm the problem, my suspicion is that when I disable SMBV1 on WHS 2011, it severely degrades the performance of the connector software to a point where clients will only stay connected to the server for a maximum of about two days. To make things worse, re-enabling SMB V1 doesn't get rid of the problem, and client connectors still act up frequently. Workarounds for the problem that I have discovered so far are to either

A. Be ready to reset your server about every two days,

B. Navigate to your shared folders and login to the shared drive via file explorer

C. Leave SMB V1 enabled.

I chose to leave it enabled, and my clients have worked reliably ever since.
