My notifications stopped working and when I try send a test message through my gmail account I get an SMTP failure. I have Google 2-step verification enabled, so I betting that's the culprit. I have another gmail account (with 2-step disabled) and I tried using it as the send client and it worked. So I ask, how do we setup Remote Notifiation to get around the 2-step?

Never mind, I figured it out. You have to go into the 2-step settings for your google account and create an application specific password. All is well now...

I thought my WHS had been unusually quiet for a while now...

I'm glad you got it figured out. For those that need more details, you can set up the application specific password here:
