Hello all,

My EX-487 has the HP Mediasmart software version 2.5.10.26972 dated 4/9/09. Could this possibly be the latest version? (excluding 3.0) No bug fixes or feature additions in a year? I do have auto updates enabled. When I do a manual check for updates it gives this message: "Could not connect to the HP MediaSmart Server Web server at this time."

Also, WHS should show PP3 but shows SP2 and that auto update feature is also enabled. A manual check for updates using Microsoft update in a RDP session comes back with no available updates. Any idea what gives?

Thanks, John

The updates via RDP are for Server 2003, which is why you show SP2. You wants to use the WHS console and go to Settings tab and then do the Windows Update from there. You can also check to see shat version of WHS you are running, ie PP3.

Check the Wiki for software versions of HP.

Thanks Tex. I'll try that when I get home this evening.

Can anyone verify the latest version of the Hp 2.5 software? I'm not sure when my server's inability to connect to the Hp Web server began but the most recent update being dated 4/9/09 makes me wonder.

Have a great day! John.

HP Software Versions, and Windows Home Server versions from the Wiki.

Tex, I looked where you suggested and found that I do indeed have PP3. Thanks for the help.

Alex, I saw the wiki earlier but it only list the 3.0 versions. I was interested in the latest update to the 2.5 version. After some more digging I think the April 2009 version being reported by my console is the latest. The Hp download page lists a newer version that just came out on 3/24/10. I guess it just hasn't entered the auto update process yet. I'll give it another week.

Thank you both and have a great day!
John

Ahh, bummer, I thought we were tracking all the HP versions in the same way we track the WHS versions, I'll chat with Cougar and see if we can get that updated with more details.
