I recently came across some software that might be useful to those of you looking to free up some disk space. It is free from a university mathematics and computer science department. It visually depicts your entire hard drive as a treemap. You can assign unique colors to specific file types (among other features). Large files pop right off the screen. I have not tried it on my MSS yet and I don't know if it would install on the server itself since Server 2003 is not listed under the intended OS types. I think it might work by installing on a client PC and then scanning the server drive(s). I may try it on my MSS later, but I don't have a space problem (yet!). I used it on my Vista laptop and it worked well. Scans and refreshes are very fast.

I've seen discussions here about defragging and finding duplicate files, but haven't seen much on this topic so I thought I would add it to the mix of tools here. Hope you find it useful!

Please post your experience if you try it on your MSS.
