I have remote access disabled intentionally, I have no use for it, and I Do Not want it on.
I get this Event Notification:
"HP MediaSmart Server web sites/remote access are disabled"

I put the check in it to "Ignore" But it keeps removing it when I Reboot or if No Internet service is presently connected.

Does anyone have any Idea how to disable or remove it completely from the Notifications List?

It is a EX487 running v2, and I have 2 of them with exactly the same problem.

Thanks for your help.

Added Note:
I found the registry key where the Notifications are suppressed, it is:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\Notification\1.0\Suppressions"
Checking the "Ignore" Checkbox adds this entry: "HPMediaSmart-WebSites"

But something still removes the registry entry on reboot or when it detects no internet.

Any Ideas, Anyone?

Thanks again for your help.

yakuza, Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, If I turn on Remote Access it configures the router Automatically.
I don't see any way to unconfigure the router...
I don't want the Router Configured or the Remote Access On.
I had no trouble with it before this "newer version", it was off and never made any alerts.

I guess I'll need to find a way to roll back the update, and the console connectors if I can't find a fix for this not-so-well-thought-out-idea HP seems to have had.

Any other Ideas, Anyone?

The only other idea I have is to manually change the WHS registry so it thinks remote access is enabled, HP appears to watch this key to determine whether to send the health notification. I've verified that changing it from 0 to 1 will cause the health notification to go away, but I have not tested to see if the setting is retained across reboots.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\Website Manager\Connectivity

Let us know if it works for you!

yakuza,
I think you may have found the Answer! Thank You!

It now shows on the remote access tab "Remote Access Not Available",
with big red x on the icon! (I'll be checking it out to see if the router is really off),
It does have the IP addresses showing in the router section,
and the domain name section shows "not configured".

It worked past the reboot, and dropping the internet connection so far!
With No Health Notifications!

So far it's looking good.

If I run in to more trouble I'll be sure to let you know,
Thank you Again!

Wanted to try this as well, so I used regedit to go to the above address, but in \Website Manager\ is no "subfolder" \Connectivity on my WHS (ex490)

In \Website Manager\ I see tree entries:
- (Default)
- SelectedGuid
- WebsiteHeadline

Any suggestions? :)

Yeah, create that key with a value of 1.
