I was looking for a way to do a clean install on my HP ex485 and still have the HP software installed. Not really sure why but I saw a challenge and wanted to solve it. So here is my little step by step guide to re-create the HP MSS 2.1 installation package that was originally installed on your MSS. (note i will not share the actual installation package I created with you so do not ask.. if you do not have a HP ex48x server you should go buy one :D )

So any ways here is my little guide good luck .

ok easier way of doing this download the attached zip and extract it to a folder on your HP drive

run the .cmd the HP MSS drive root after it in the CMD prompt e.x., Create HP MediaSmart Server 2.1 Install.cmd C:\

should give you a installer for HPMSS2.1

Then to install simply install

    jre1.6.0_05.msi
    apache-tomcat-6.0.16.exe
    ImageMagick-6.4.0-11-Q16-windows-dll.exe

Make sure to set the tomcat port to 8089

install the HPMSS2.1 install

good to go. (if you are installing on a non HP make sure to turn off the CPU, temp, and other warnings)

If you plan to upgrade to 2.5 you need to un-install the arcsoft codac (it causes an error because i didn't rebuild the right codec.
