Everyone that has installed it, (msi finished without error), did it make any difference if you had PP1 and or PP2 installed?
I had most luck when PP2 was NOT installed but still have some things not working like they should.

I've created a Wiki article to cover the full steps to do the upgrade, along with the links to everything else you need.

http://www.mediasmartserver.net/wiki/in ... _the_EX47x

Hope you enjoy it!

Cougar great thanks. I am excited about this but Im willing to wait a little longer for it if this isnt the add-in pack you intended to release. What I mean is I can be more patient if your still working on the release add in for easy install.

I want to thanks everyone involved in this project you guys are great.

The Add-In will more than likely evolve to make the install easier, but I think we could end up with a post-install Add-In to address any glitches people might find. I've used each of the features, and haven't had an issue. I have, however installed cleanly from a 1.3 build without any Add-Ins installed.

Not sure how long you need to wait; I'm pretty sure both me and Yakuza need a little sleep now..... (well I do, I'm on UK time!)

First off great job on putting this together. It will be awesome. Us diehard fans can't thank you enough. However i'm am still having problems access the update links. Is HP's FTP server down? Anyone else with this issue? I've tried throughout the day and no luck.

Thanks again for your great work

To;
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10 ... Update.exe
MS251027311ServerUpdate.exe build date 04/23/09

went from 6972 to 7311

Thanks cougar for posting very detailed wiki. I tried installing it yesterday was struck with Error 1720. I now cannot install/repair/modify nor uninstall it even with add remove programs. I get the same error. I followed every step in wiki and still getting same error. I got the update half installed. I have attached the document.

Is there any solution for me now?

Thanks for your help

The link to ImageMagick-6.5.1-7-Q16-windows-dll.exe is no longer valid in the wiki.

Is there another link available?

Use this :
http://www.imagemagick.org/download/binaries/

and choose the latest windows dll version.

Thank you for the wiki and all the hard work everyone have contributed to make this upgrade possible! I installed the update this morning, and most of the stuff work.

However, I have experienced some issues:
1. I'm logging in from Vistax64 via the console. I click the new "Welcome - Updated!"-tab, and choose one of the "(learn more)"-links. The webbrowser complains about the certificate, and also don't find the page. Do we need to install the certificate service?

2. iStream shows the error "The operation could not be completed because the server provided invalid data". Other people have experienced that problem, too. But I'm unsure if it's connected to this "hacked" upgrade or not.

I will test this new update some more today, connecting to my PS3, XBox 360 and Windows HTPC!

Again, thank you everyone!
Cheers,

Correction... iStream works for me now. I had mistakenly written in "https://[servername]". iStream do not need that, just the servername. :-)

Hi there,

just to say I just followed the wiki and the install went without a hitch. A couple of minor things. I needed the new link for ImageMagick and also I didn't need to do point11, the path was already right

Good job everyone,

CW

Actually one point. The help links from the front page of the console don't work, ie https://HPSERVER/help/HPMSS_UsersGuide/ ... iPhone.htm

does anyone have a source for these files?

Does anybody has experience with localised versions of the MSS? I am in Germany so my programs folder is named "C:\Programme" and not "C:\Program Files". Should those users use their default local program files folders or strictly use the mentioned folders (like in the WHS US version)?

Thanks for your great work cougar, yakuza and all others who worked this out!

So far so good! Just one problem I've ran into. Tomcat is not starting. Any idea on this log from Tomcat:
