This might be helpful to some who have trouble using the remote desktop connection to their WHS. By default, the stdard RDP client on Windows XP attempts to connect any client-side (that is, your computer) drives and printers. Not all printers play nice with Terminal Services (which is what you are using, even with WHS, when you RDP to it). Usually this just results in an error in the event log under the category "Terminal Services Device" which says the pritner cannot be installed, but sometimes can cause wierd issues. Also if you have many drives on your local computer, or external USB ones, there could be odd issues.
To try and prevent all this, when you open up the remote desktop client, before clicking to connect to your WHS, click the Options button and go to the Local Resources tab. Set the Sound srop-dwn to "leave at the remote computer" and uncheck the boxes for Pritners, Disk Drives, and serial ports at the bottom.
Perhaps this will aid with some odd RDP connection issues. There's no reason why, especially when both systems are on the same LAN, you should have trouble connecting to WHS via RDP.
