Hello: First time user of this forum and a bit desperate. Recent power failure crapped out my server that I have used for years. Turns out my server recovery disc got scratched and is not reading properly. I tried all the disc cleaning tricks and it just won't read. Does anyone have a Server Recovery iso file for the 470? Or a link to where it might be?

I found one for the 490 but it keeps giving failure at step 2 of 4 and I tried all the recommended tricks on the net to boot in network safe mode and manually set IP and gateway addresses but none of that worked. I read in one article that the server recover disc of the 480 and 470 are different and wont work with each other so I thought maybe the 490 series disc wont work with the 470. Any help will be appreciated. Thanx

I don't know who is hosting this one, but it is in the Ex-470 thread.
http://umhost.net.br/downloads/HomeServer/HP_EX48X_RECOVERY.ISO
Sometimes you can find discs on ebay fairly cheap.
They would need to be for the 470/475 the others won't work as you have found out.
Good Luck

P.S. If you check out the ex-470/5 thread you will most likely find a couple of people that might help ya.....

Thanx for the reply. Unfortunately, it appears that is a dead link. The system is getting old I suppose. I had someone PM me, hoping to make progress.

The link Gardian provided is good.
It is a direct download of a iso file.
You will need to burn it to a cd to use it.

Downloading may take awhlie as it is not a small file.
I use Power-Iso but I'm sure there are some free iso burners.

http://www.freeisoburner.com/ is one of many.

Thanx everyone... got my server working again! Wish HP still made these things. I haven't found a good replacement yet and will probably run mine till the bits stop byting. Then just cry :(

Great! Glad to hear ya got it going.
We are with ya on a replacement, I will be running mine till it won't go anymore, then I have built a win2012E DIY box that I may switch to.

But, watch out for the up coming HPE Gen 10 microserver that HP is coming out with very soon.
The start price is supposed to be under $400 and it has ClearOS running on it which has alot of features like backups of some kind.
It might be a good replacement down the road. I'll be waiting for some more reviews before I "maybe" pick one up to at least play with.

Good Luck and enjoy....
