Hi,

I have an old EX475 system, just bought 2gb of ram and looking to upgrade the system to v3.x so i can add my mac.

I have seen many threads on how to do the upgrade and a few pointing to hp site to buy the disks, however i can not find them on hp. How can i get my hands on these?

Hp does offer for free something called "Data Vault (Version 3.3)" how is different from what i need? or is this exactly what i need? Can't seem top find good documentation on any of this.

Would really like some help.

Thanks

Depending on which version of OS X your MAC has it may not work with any of the HP MSS Models running the HP 3.x software. I think and I could be wrong but 10.7 will not work and for it to work you need 10.5 or 10.6.

Please look into this before you go through the hassle of obtaining the 3.x upgrade for your EX470 and then have to perform a Server Recovery to get it installed.

Your best bet would be to consider Windows Server 2012E or WS2012E as it has support for the MAC that is to say until Apple decides to break that compatibility siting security concerns.

You might be out of luck especially if you want to use TimeMachine. Read through this thread to see what I mean viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10880

I know WS2012E has MAC support and possibly WHS2011 which is something you can look into to figure out what would work best for you be it to install it on your EX475 which may not be the best solution because of hardware limitations.

There are other MAC users here and there is a MAC Forum you can look through to see if there is anything there that may be of help for you. viewforum.php?f=19
