I have an account on UPS which informs me of when packages being delivered to my home address and this morning I got an odd message telling me I have a package coming from WD. I mean I have an RMA request in for a 2TB BLK drive and its a bit old and so I figured maybe they just opted to send me the damn drive.

Well UPS just made the delivery and indeed I got a drive but not what I thought. They actually sent me a 4TB WD RED drive just to thank me for being a customer and providing them with feedback. I am certain they sent others drives as well. I mean I have purchased more WD Drives that I have lost count and after I have run them for a period of time I change them and give them away to other family members.

I am going to throw this baby into my server and see how it works out. I have 5 2TB Reds in my server now and I have 4 4TB Hitachi Deskstars so basically all my drives are from the WD Family of drives. I wonder if I get a warranty with this too or is this too much to ask? Either way I am a very happy camper.

Comp1962, That's great! Last winter I had sent in a 1TB Green RMA and they sent me a 2TB Black and said Thank You. However, I thought it was just a mistake but apparently it wasn't. I'm a little thick I guess.

To be honest I thought it might of been something to do with an RMA request for a 2TB Black I have with them that I need to follow up on but when I opened the box and saw the 4TB Drive with a nice card and cool Tee Shirt I was taken back and one happy camper. Registered the drive and added it to my WS2012E storage pool and I hope it runs well.
