Does anyone know how to enable or activate the HDD lights on the HP Datavault x310 :hp: :sanjuan: :whs: :ms: running Windows Home Server 2011?

I did a clean install and all is good, but would like to be able to utilize the HDD lights to know if/when an HDD has issues or goes out.

Thanks

I don't recall anyone being 100% successful using non native os versions.
Possibly look at the lights out mod I have no idea if it is available anymore.

There was a time when getting the x-510 and ex-490 series server lights working, but the 310 hardware is a lot different. The light fix had a lot to do with drivers and my guess is they would not work on the 310, but if you do some searching you should be able to find the threads on how many of us got the lights working (kind of) they never really worked the same, they would lightup if a drive was in and not light up if a bay was empty, that was about it.
I did it and it and did not like whs 2001 so went back to stock software and will run it as long as I can.

Hope this helps, I don't think you are missing much as long as you have the smart app on the server to keep track of the health of the drives.

Goodluck
