No because its ECC and you need Non-ECC buffered RAM.

This might work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4GB-1x4GB-DDR2- ... 4d07a4f932 Contact the seller to inquire about its suitability. If you mention its for a server you also need to mention the server does not use ECC RAM.

The typical price you will see a 4GB stick is about $80 and the one above is at $88.58 so its close and just an example of what to look for.

You can also search the forums to see what others have successfully used in their servers and then look on Newegg, Amazon, EBay, Memory GIANT, Microcenter or Frys Electronics to see what they have to offer.

I have had a couple WHSv1 server running with 4GB of RAM and to be honest I could not see any significant boost in performance and only 3.2GB would be available but these servers used between 4-8 slots for RAM so they actually utilized the RAM at full speed where as the MSS and DV only use 1 stick which causes it to run at half speed.

Let me know how you make out and if you upgrade the RAM to 4GB please share your results particularly if you happen to see a performance boost which I could not see on my end.

Unless you do extra stuff with the server upgrading the cpu would be first on my list. My sets using 970mb memory most of the time.
But I do have to admit I have 3 sticks of memory and upgraded both servers I'm running. I don't know if it's in my head, but the extra memory seemed to help a little, my guess is windows being windows some times it grabs for extra memory and if it is available one might notice that as working smoother.

If you are running a bunch of stuff and streaming blu-rays then it might actually come in handy.

I went for CPU and arctic silver heatsink grease first, E5800 dual core 3.2 mhz works great, that upgrade you will notice.
Goodluck
