I have been searching some and found some info about attaching a monitor to a data vault using something called a Gen2 and Gen 3 cable, basically a small assembly with VGA out and some PS/2 outputs (for mouse and keyboard) that attaches to the CN9 on the motherboard. That info and device are now a few years old and newer technology is out.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with USB to VGA cables on the x510, especially ones with "built-in video cards" such as [newly registered so wouldn't let me link but if you google j5create JUA310 and check Amazon etc you can see what I mean] ?

USB video adapters won't give you BIOS access which is why most people purchase the debug board.
